Modal Analysis ModuleDrillScan now performs vibration analysis, and will soon provide a new module in the BHA Management® software platform, that will allow for a modal study of any BHA (modal frequencies assessment, 3D visualization of BHA deflected modal shapes to provide critical RPMs).
Step-by-step directional modeling
DrillScan intends to implement the step-by-step analysis the company already offers as a service as a new option for directional analysis. With this directional analysis it is possible to detect sudden directional changes due to interbedded formations (sequences of soft and hard rocks) or local doglegs. Overall, it also makes it possible to rebuild the local doglegs between the survey stations and therefore leads to a better wellbore trajectory definition and TVD accuracy.
Hydraulics
DrillScan now has robust routines to assess pressure loss & equivalent circulating density (ECD) for different fluid rheological models (Newtonian, plastic and pseudo-plastic). This hydraulic package will be implemented soon in the BHA Management® platform. It will make it possible to:
- Ensure hole stability
- Ensure hole cleaning
- Better take into account ECD in drillstring mechanics
- Better design drillstrings & tubing
