Bit choice is a key factor in the directional response of any drilling system. Our PDC Bit Model evaluates the bit steerability and bit walking tendency which are the parameters commonly used by the main bit manufacturers. Our model is based on extensive experimental validation conducted at Mines Paris Tech facilities in Pau (France). Passive gauge, active gauge and cutting structure main characteristics are taken into account along with the formation hardness and operating conditions.

The software interface is easy to use and understand. It helps the drilling engineer and the bit manufacturer have a clear and simple exchange to rapidly identify the optimum bit features requested for a given directional application.
