Christophe SIMON, SPE, founded DrillScan in 2001 after a PhD in drilling
engineering from Mines ParisTech. He has 15 years of experience in drilling mechanics
as an R&D Manager, software architect & managing director and has authored several
SPE papers in directional drilling.

Ludovic Macresy, SPE member, joined DrillScan in 2004. He has 7 years of
experience in the oil and gas industry and has successfully led multiple projects
in the fields of directional drilling and relief wells. Since 2006,
he has been in charge of the development of DrillScan. Ludovic earned a Master's of science from
the «Ecole Polytechnique» & a Master's of Civil engineering from «Mines ParisTech».

Anas SIKAL, SPE, is a Project Manager at DrillScan. He has two years of experience as a project
manager in drilling engineering: specifically in directional drilling, well placement uncertainties
& relief wells. SIKAL is a member of the ISCWSA (Industry Steering Committee on Wellbore Survey Accuracy)
has authored SPE technical papers, and earned a Master's of science from the «Ecole Polytechnique» &
a Master's of Civil Engineering from «Mines ParisTech»

Ahmed BOUGACHA is a junior engineer qualified in 2008 from «Ecole Polytechnique de
Tunisie» and endowed with a versatile and multidisciplinary training with a specialization
in mechanics and structure. He furthered his specialization in the petroleum field by
internships in many well-known petroleum companies and in the «Geosciences Centre of Mines
ParisTech».
BOUGACHA is a project engineer in drilling engineering, specifically directional drilling and drillstring mechanics (torque, drag and buckling) and has authored his first SPE paper on the topic.

Stéphane Menand, SPE, is a research engineer at Mines ParisTech in the
Geosciences Centre and a permanent consultant with DrillScan. He has 11
years of experience as an R&D project manager in drilling engineering, more
specifically in directional drilling, drillstring mechanics (torque, drag, and
buckling), and drill-bit performance. Menand has authored several SPE and
other technical papers, and earned a PhD in drilling engineering from
Mines ParisTech. Menand serves on the JPT Editorial Committee.

Laurent GERBAUD is a research engineer and the drilling laboratory manager at Mines ParisTech
in the Geosciences Centre and a permanent consultant with DrillScan. He has 13 years of
experience as an R&D project manager in drilling engineering more specifically in drill bit
design and drilling performance analysis. He also has long experience in developing custom
testing setup for the drilling industry. Gerbaud has authored several SPE and other technical
papers, and earned a PhD in drilling engineering from Mines ParisTech.

Jérémy Berge is part of DrillScan's development team. He has
several years of experience developing software for various companies in
various exotic languages. He's the windbg go-to-guy when things
get out of control. Since joining the team in 2006, he's spent a
considerable amount of time merging and linking together some of the

Carine Chambon, IT Coordinator, is part of DrillScan's information system
team and leads projects analysis and documentation templating efforts. She's
also in charge of developing several internal tools. After 4 years of
computer science study and more than 2 additional years in several
